The Leeds Guild of Singers turned 70 in 2018, and we celebrated this with an extravagant Anniversary Concert on 15th June.

This concert featured a celebratory programme of Guild classics, as well as some new, exciting, pieces, with music by composers such as Eric Whitacre, Elgar, Clemens non Papa, William Byrd and Roxana Panufnik; we also ventured into the realm of video games, with music by Jessica Curry.

We also commissioned our own Matthew Oglesby to write a piece commemorating the occasion. This piece, entitled Sing, set to a text by Hannah Stone, received its first performance at the concert.

Supported with funding from Leeds Inspired, part of Leeds City Council
